MfM's Red Goes Green Campaign

2010-11-15
Red Goes Green was initiated following the first waste management workshop hosted by
Sustainable Stellenbosch in July 2009. The campaign focussed on waste in the Greater Stellenbosch and worked with local schools and residences to increase awanress on the need for recycling and waste minimisation. Not only did we manage to collect and recycle 64 000 bottles (18 300 kg glass) from the waste stream but we raised R4 000 to donate to the Kayamandi Swop Shop (to be launched in 2010). Other activities included river cleanups, an amazing race at Spier and tree planting as well as extensive on air awareness raising throughout the month of October.
MfM continues to support and drive a number of sustainability initiatives on campus and beyond. New project updates on the way!
